27/09/06 spontaneous action against War

Rhythms of Resistance Manchester, in a self-organised autonomous fashion, visited the hotel, where the Labour party conference delegates stayed, to demand Peace and say No to Trident.
A night action, filled with samba and a strong antiwar message.

Rhythms of Resistance bands across the UK fused into a 50-piece samba band that injected the antiwar demonstration with energy and passion. The samba activists dynamically took the streets of Manchester to say No to War.

Marching for Peace



Sambistas from Rhythms of Resistance Sheffield and Barnsley marched for peace from Sheffield to Manchester. Their march started on 19th September. The sambistas arrived at 7:30 pm on 22nd September, ready to join the national demonstration against the war.
